At this point, The Elder Scrolls 6 seems like a distant dream with no release date in sight. Skyblivion, an ambitious fan project that aims to recreate Oblivion in Skyrim, is also a while away from launch. But, if you want to play The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion with modern-day graphics, you might not have to wait much longer.
Industry insider Jeff Grubb says Bethesda will stealthily reveal a remastered version of the classic between April 21 and April 28. This comes a few weeks after a prediction by another leaker, NateTheHate, who said The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion would be announced before June 2025. Then again, there have been numerous failed predictions about this, but given the frequency of leaks, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion remake is bound to show up sooner rather than later.
It will get redone entirely in Unreal Engine 5 and hopefully address the numerous issues that come with Bethesda's ageing engine. While The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion could definitely benefit from a remake, many would argue its predecessor, The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind could also benefit from a modern-day do-over. Unfortunately, the rumour mill has been silent on that matter, but you can still perk up your Morrowind experience with a treasure trove of third-party mods.
